Description
On March 24, 1969, Chancellor John T. Caldwell released his item-by-item response to each of the 43 grievances submitted to him by Physical Plant employees. Caldwell's responses are a mix of acceding that the grievance is justified, stating the university will investigate a grievance further, and passing the blame for a working condition onto personnel policies established by the State of North Carolina. Many non-academic employees were not satisfied with the responses, but as a result of their continued militancy, several university policies did change and worked to improve the working conditions of many employees.
