Description
After the Physical Plant division's employees protested in the spring of 1969, the university implemented changes to improve the working conditions and grievance procedures of non-academic workers. Chancellor Caldwell outlines the changes in this announcement to all employees that include more management training, better record-keeping, established disciplinary procedures, and the development of an employee handbook. These changes were improvements upon the administrative procedures in place before the protests of 1969, but the university would still face charges of racial discrimination in the future.
