Though many anti-Vietnam protests had been held on NC State's campus, few were large or particularly well organized. However, after the invasion of Cambodia and the Kent State shootings thousands of students were interested because they saw that this could have happened on their campus. This page shows a recommendation by the writers to keep the Convocation peaceful and respectful. They hoped that the students would show North Carolina and the nation that angry students could still be well organized, respectful and thoughtful without resorting to violence,
