These photos of Manuel Houston Crockett, Jr., Edward Carson, Irwin Richard Holmes, Jr., and Walter VanBuren Holmes were collected from the 1957 Agromeck (North Carolina State's yearbook) by the NCSU Libraries Special Collections Research Center. These four young men, who arrived at NC State in 1956, were the first African American undergraduate students to enroll at the University.
