Letter to Dr. James Maddox from Linda Brieaddy
Title
Letter to Dr. James Maddox from Linda Brieaddy
Description
In this letter to Dr. James Maddox, the chairman of the Good Neighbor Council, Linda Brieaddy writes to complain about an incident involving two chemistry graduate students and the Brieaddy's landlords. Mrs. Brieaddy writes that she and her husband, an employee of NC State, invited two students--a white man and a black woman--to their home, the Brieaddy's landlords approached the male student and insisted that he remove his "wife" (the black female student was uninvolved with the male student) from the premises. The landlords later approached the Brieaddys to insist that if they were going to entertain black guests, they should move. Mrs. Brieaddy was quite perturbed and wanted to make the Good Neighbor Council aware of the situation.
