HEW Charges Discrimination
Title
HEW Charges Discrimination
Description
In 1970, the Department of Health, Education, and Welfare (HEW) charged the Consolidated University of North Carolina with racial and gender discrimination in a number of administrative areas. Their charges led to a ten-year negotiation between the two organizations. NC State's student newspaper, The Technician, followed the dispute closely.
