PP Employees Make Requests

Black employees of NC State's Physical Plant division presented a list of 43 requests for changes to their working conditions and wages to Chancellor John T. Caldwell on March 18, 1969. The requests were submitted by the Grievance Committee of Non-Academic Employees, who refused to negotiate with the Chancellor. The submission of these requests along with protests by the workers and campus groups supporting them, demonstrated the militancy of black employees in demanding equality in the workspaces on campus.
