Assessment
Using class readings as evidence, students should answer the following questions in a one-page essay:
- Is the United States a post-racial society today?
- If so, when did the U.S. become post-racial and what characteristics make it post-racial? Consider the nature of politics, wealth distribution, access to education, and media portrayals as you shape your response.
- If not, what events, institutions, structures, etc. have kept the U.S. from becoming a post-racial society? Consider the nature of politics, wealth distribution, access to education, and media portrayals as you shape your response.
