Assessment

Using class readings as evidence, students should answer the following questions in a one-page essay:

  • Is the United States a post-racial society today?
  • If so, when did the U.S. become post-racial and what characteristics make it post-racial?  Consider the nature of politics, wealth distribution, access to education, and media portrayals as you shape your response.
  • If not, what events, institutions, structures, etc. have kept the U.S. from becoming a post-racial society?  Consider the nature of politics, wealth distribution, access to education, and media portrayals as you shape your response.
