NCSU Faculty Club
Title
NCSU Faculty Club
Description
A symbol of modernization and progress, the NCSU Faculty Club held tight to social and political norms. The Good Neighbor Council requested that the majority-white institution open its doors to faculty from nearby historically black colleges, St. Augustine's University and Shaw University in order to foster inter-collegiate discussions about vital community issues. However, the Faculty Club chose to preserve its elite status and denied the Good Neighbor Council's request.
