Annual Report for 1957-58 Instruction, School of Agriculture
Title
Annual Report for 1957-58 Instruction, School of Agriculture
Description
The Annual Report of North Carolina State University School of Agriculture and Life Sciences summarizes the year's changes in agriculture; changes in the school's curriculum, buildings, and courses; Extension; and research. This report revealed the creation of three new curricula: Agricultural Science, Agricultural Business, and Agricultural Technology. The purpose of new curricula was to reduce the requirements for graduation and allow each student to nurture his own program needs. This report is the beginning of many reports discussing "greater emphasis on guidance for high school students. The College wanted to attract _enough promising young men and women into the field who can and will continue to develop new agricultural frontiers." The School of Agricultures goal was to empower women and men, however white men were truly the main focus.
