The Annual Reports of North Carolina State University summarize the year's changes in agriculture; changes in the school's curriculum, buildings, and courses; Extension; and research. From 1951-1952 the total enrollment was 783. From 1952-1953 the total enrollment was 834. From 1953-1954 the total enrollment was 809. From 1955-1956 the total enrollment was 792. The Report addresses the presence of female students on campus. There is a very small presence of women, becuase women could train in home economics and liberal arts at other institutions like the Women's College in Greensboro, North Carolina.

"Inside the Classroom
State College normally has about 4,200 students enrolled each year. But less than 100 are women. Two other units of the Consolidated University - Women's College and the University - train almost all young women for home economics and liberal arts respectively. Among the 4,200 students at State College, around 800 are studying agriculture, another 1,800 are in engineering with the rest spread among five other schools of the college."
