"Recruitment of Black Faculty
The School of Agriculture and Life Sciences has successfully recruited two blacks for instructional assignments during the year. Ms. Nannette S. Henderson, Department of Plant Pathology, joined the faculty in the fall as an instructor in general biology. In the summer of 1973, Dr. Tommy E. Wynn will join the Department of Botany with a major instructional assignment in teaching general biology for the non-major.
Improvement of Instruction
Two activities of the School in the improvement of instruction during the year include association with predominantly black institutions. One is the initiation of a HEW project with Fayetteville State for the improvement of instructional materials for the teaching of biology. Plans for this workshop on teaching objectives were developed by this school and by the School of Agriculture at A&T State University. The workshop was supported by a HEW grant and by a resource individual form the Southern Regional Education Board."
