Title
North Carolina State University at Raleigh Women's Handbook 1965-1966
Description
The Woman's Campus Code Board (WCCB) prepared a booklet for incoming female student class of 1965-1966 at North Carolina State University. The guide list's information about: Erdahl-Cloyd Union activities for students; Angel Flight, an organization of women interested in the Air Force; Women's Chorus; Sigma Kappa Sorority; Student Women's Association; the completion of a women's only dormitory in 1967; behavior and etiquette; proper dress for fraternity parties and casual dates, for football games, for lectures, Raleigh Little Theatre, New Arts, Friends of the College, and for Dances; University Housing Policy; social regulations; opening and closing hours; signing in and out of residence halls; permission to return late to residence halls after hours; and, house government council. This pamphlet is historically important because it is a window into 1960s perceptions of women. The University Women's Board believed it could dictate the morality of women: dress and acting.
